The Old Vicarage offers residential care 24 hours a day. The home does not offer nursing care but we have excellent support from the local Doctors’ surgery, the community nurses and other health professionals. We are able to offer accommodation to residents who are catheterised but unfortunately not to those who are doubly incontinent.
We can accept potential residents who need to be encouraged or persuaded to eat. We are able to cater for varied dietary needs i.e. Diabetics or Coeliac but we do not accept new residents who are incapable of feeding themselves.
The most important aspect of the home is the quality and commitment of the management and staff. The home opened in 1990 and the owners have a wealth of experience of what is important and what generates contentment in a residential home. The home’s reputation testifies to the very high quality of both the care team and the support staff who are trained, qualified and experienced in their own particular spheres.
Person centred care plans are prepared with the resident and resident’s family wherever possible which enables us to develop an all round comprehensive view of the residents physical, spiritual and emotional needs.
